Terms of Use

Last updated July 2026

1. Agreement

By using docksnipe.com, the DockSnipe browser extension or the @DockSnipeBot Telegram bot, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use them.

2. What the service is

DockSnipe monitors public Facebook Marketplace boat listings inside your own browser session, reads facts out of the listing text, scores it, and sends you a Telegram alert. It is a monitoring and notification tool. It does not buy, sell, broker, inspect, transport or finance boats, and it is not a party to any transaction you enter into.

3. Dependency on Facebook

Read this one. DockSnipe depends on a platform we do not control. Facebook can change its page structure, its terms, or its rate limits at any time, without notice, and any of those can degrade or break the service temporarily or permanently. Automated interaction with Facebook may also conflict with Facebook's own terms, and your Facebook account is your responsibility. We cannot guarantee uninterrupted monitoring and we do not accept liability for action Facebook takes against your account.

4. Deal reads are not appraisals

Tiers such as "strong deal" or "thin", and the flags shown with them, are automated reads of the seller's own words. They are opinions generated by software, not valuations, inspections or professional advice. Listing text is frequently wrong, incomplete or dishonest, and we cannot detect what a seller does not write down.

Inspect any boat before you buy it, including a compression test and a look at the hull, transom and stringers. Decisions you make from an alert are yours alone.

5. Licence

While your subscription is active we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use DockSnipe for your own boat searching.

6. Restrictions

You may not:

  • Share, resell or sublicense your access, or run it for third parties as a service.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile or tamper with the extension, except where that right cannot be excluded by law.
  • Use DockSnipe to break any law, or Facebook's or Telegram's terms.
  • Attempt to overload, probe or circumvent our systems, rate limits or entitlement checks.
  • Resell or redistribute the listing data we surface to you as a data product.

7. Subscription and billing

  • Subscriptions are billed in advance through Stripe on the plan and interval shown at checkout.
  • Free trials convert to a paid subscription at the end of the trial unless you cancel before it ends.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel any time, and access continues to the end of the paid period.
  • Payments are generally non-refundable except where required by law, though we would rather sort out a genuine problem than argue about it. Email us.
  • Prices can change. Existing subscribers get notice before a change affects them.

8. Updates

The extension updates itself through your browser's extension store. Some updates are required for the service to keep working, particularly after Facebook changes something.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

DockSnipe is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, that every matching listing will be found, that alerts will arrive within any particular time, or that the facts and flags parsed from a listing will be correct.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, DockSnipe is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost profits, lost opportunities or a boat you did or did not buy. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

Some jurisdictions do not allow these exclusions, in which case they apply to the extent permitted.

11. Termination

You can stop at any time by cancelling and unpairing the bot. We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these terms, abuse of the service, or non-payment. We may also discontinue the service, in which case we will give reasonable notice and refund any unused prepaid period.

12. Intellectual property

The DockSnipe name, mark, site, extension and alert formats are our property. Listing content belongs to whoever posted it. Nothing here transfers ownership to you.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date above changes, and material changes will be announced through the bot or by email. Continuing to use DockSnipe after a change means you accept it.

14. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these terms or the service should first be raised with us and addressed through good-faith negotiation. If it cannot be resolved that way, it goes to binding arbitration, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in a court of competent jurisdiction for intellectual property matters.

15. Severability

If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, it is modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, and the remaining provisions stay in force.
